Cora Vasseur
Profile: I'm a writer, director, and producer in Chicago, Illinois. I'm a graduate of Second City's Writing Program, lover of all things funny, especially satire and British Comedy. "Writer" is an umbrella term: I writer screenplays, sketch comedy, lyrics and am working on a novel. My first show was at Second City. I co-wrote it with my classmates. We had 4 sold out performances with a waiting list to get in on the fourth night. I directed and co-wrote my second show. We were proud it made money and met all our goals. The next show was back at Second City and we flipped the gender roles of favorite characters (Hamlet became Hamletta, Cinderella became Cinderello) to see how the stories would change. I'd like to apply that to Shakespeare's works. I have also written songs for Singers On New Ground's Cabaret at the Green Mill.
