You get an idea–a concept, a phrase. It’s brilliant. It’s beautiful.

You relax because all is right with the world. You got it. You are meant to be a writer because you just created that idea, concept, phrase. You will have a 7 decade career.

You move. You forget the idea. How could you mislay that gift? You didn’t write it down because of course you’ll remember it. How could you forget the piece that brings it all together or unlocks all the mystery?

Quite simple. Arrogance. Happiness. Infernal state of being human.

You may have asked for help. When help arrives with a pretty package all done up in a bow, you acted like a poor host and said, “Show yourself around.” They took the gift and left.

Be open and be ready, especially if you’ve invited help over.
